About Today’s Meme:

I Hold My Breath When…I Think I am in Trouble

The idea of being in trouble helped you create the habit of holding your breath as a young child. In anticipation, you pulled in your breath to oxygenate your body as a way to buffer against the unknown.

As an adult, you probably still carry a belief of right and wrong based on how others see you. Even when you have not done anything, the idea that others can force blame, feel that you have harmed them, or insist that you are wrong can bring you stress and stop the flow of energy and your breath.

Learning to recognize that something is not about you can help you breathe easier in moments others want you to feel stress or pressure. Spend time reinforcing your good qualities and choosing to be recognized as you are instead of as the pain or fear that belongs to others.
